Job Overview:

 

GaN is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer/ Senior Principal Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Work cooperatively with a diverse technical team, including systems engineers, hardware engineers, software engineers, and program management to ensure program success.
  • Supports engineering decision-making by providing expert input and making recommendations.
  • Provides leadership direction by determining and developing approaches to solve very complex problems.
  • Act as a technical lead and assists in the mentorship of junior level engineers.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • BS in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or other applicable engineering field and 10+ years of experience
  • Desired: Masters or PhD in Engineering.

 

Requirements (minimum):

  • Experience with the practical application of engineering processes.
  • Technical proficiency and working knowledge to include end to end program lifecycle development.
  • Experience in producing detailed technical specifications, reports and documentation for custom designs to meet applicable documentation standards.
  • Experience in one or more of the following engineering disciplines (electrical, aerospace, software, or hardware)
  • Understanding of computer architectures and embedded systems
  • Ability to maintain professional demeanor at all times.
  • Dedicated to customer service, quality, and team building.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be self-motivated, self-directed, and able to work independently.

 

 

Additional Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in Hardware Design, Test/Troubleshooting
  • Ability to read and understand schematics for electronic equipment and electrical circuitry.
  • Ability to design and implement a digital control system from scratch.
  • Experience working with real-time control systems.
  • Experience with MatLab and Simulink
  • FPGA development / programming
  • Ability to program Arduino devices.
  • Familiarity with Army test and evaluation (T&E)

 

 

Special Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret level security clearance.
