GaN is seeking a Senior Android Developer to support the THS (Target Handoff System) team. Seeking someone who is passionate about mobile platforms and mobile development. They will be working with our team of talented engineers to design and build the next generation mobile applications for the United States Marine Corps.


The application will support a handheld ground fires / close air, Program of Record, software suite designed to make it easier for the marine to do their job effectively and reduce human errors. 


Responsibilities Include:

  • Architect, Design, and build advanced applications for the Android platform
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, design, and new features
  • Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and functionality
  • Perform code reviews to be the first line of defense and improve product quality
  • Work on bug fixing and improving application performance
  • Team mentorship and technical lead
  • Work as an agile team member on a Scrum team




Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 9+ years’ relevant experience; Masters degree and 11+ years of experience
Required Skills: 

  • Experience working with multi-processor systems and real time operating systems 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, write and execute Software Test Plans (STPs), Software Test Verification Procedures (STVPs) and Software Test Reports (STRs).
  • Experience with Python, BASH, and DOS or other script and interpretive languages typically used to automate test execution and archive results. 
  • Experience with real time data interface processing.   
  • Previous experience assessing the performance characteristics of applications in terms of memory usage and bandwidth, memory management units, DDR memory, memory controllers, input/output memory management and interference channel testing. 
  • Experience with C/C++ programming 
  • Fundamental understanding of Object Oriented design and programming. 
  • Demonstrated self-starter with strong interpersonal communications skills and ability to work across geographically diverse groups. 
  • Ability to successfully complete tasks with minimal direction working as an individual contributor as well as a team member.

  • Ten or more years of related experience
  • Familiarity with Agile development process
  • Experience with UNIX/Linux environments
  • Solid problem solving and comunication skills
  • A current security clearance is desired but not required.
