  • Overview

    GaN is seeking a systems engineer for an exciting new start development project. The engineer will be part of a small multi-disciplined team that will design, build, integrate, test, verify, and validate a complex test system that will be installed on Redstone Arsenal to support Aviation system testing. The project will include a large electro-mechanical system, a stabilized platform, electro-optic equipment, software, models and simulations, instrumentation and electronics, and minor construction.     Responsibilities

    • Execute systems engineering processes during the design and development of an electro-mechanical subsystems

    • Oversee electrical and mechanical engineering processes

    • Write test plans and reports for testing components, subsystems and systems in development
    • (Optional) Serve as lead software developer for entire project

    Qualifications

    Qualifications:
    • Required: BS in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other engineering field if with controls experience.

    • Desired: Masters or PhD in Systems Engineering Electrical Engineeringor other engineering field if with controls experience.

    Required Skills:

    • Experience withe practical application of systems engineering processes
    • Ability to document custom designs to meet applicable documentation standards
    • Ability to maintain professional demeanor at all times.
    • Dedicated to customer service, quality, and team building.
    • Must be self-motivated, self-directed, and able to work independently.
     
    Additional Skillsets of Interest:  
    • Experience working with real-time control systems
    • Ability to design and implement a digital control system from scratch
    • Experience with control theory implementation
    • Experience with MatLab and Simulink

    • Experience with DIS or TENA

    • Experience with RedHat Linux

    • FPGA development / programming

    • Ability to program Arduino devices

    • Familiarity with CMMI-DEV Level3
    • Familiarity with Army Aviation and Rotary Wing Aviation (RWA) platforms and components
    • Familiarity with Army test and evaluation (T&E)
    • C/C++/C# Software Development
    • Experience with RedHat / RedHawk Linux or other Real Time Operating System (RTOS)

    • Must be a U.S. Citizen
    • Must possess Security Clearance specified below
