Overview

GaN is seeking a technical professional (engineer / senior technician / SW developer) for an exciting development project starting soon. The chosen candidate will be responsible for building up and programming unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) (aka Drones).  Candidate must have a experience with drones to include flying, mechanical assembly, and programming autopilots. This job will be exciting and includes a lot of potential to grow into a larger team lead role.

Responsibilities

  • Assembly, disassembly and modification of commercial and custom UAVs.

  • Programming of UAV autopilots.
  • Piloting UAVs.
  • Working with customers to understand requirements, schedules and risks.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Technical degree.

  • Experience flying UAVs
  • Experience programming UAV autopilots (Pixhawk experience desired)
  • Experience modifying or repairing UAVs

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of five years' experience working with UAVs 
  • Ability to assemble, disassemble, and modify UAVs
  • Ability to program UAV autopilots
  • Ability to document custom designs to meet applicable documentation standards
  • Ability to maintain professional demeanor at all times.
  • Dedicated to customer service, quality, and team building.
  • Must be self-motivated, self-directed, and able to work independently.
 
Additional Skillsets of Interest:  
  • System Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience with DIS or TENA

  • FPGA development / programming

  • Ability to program Arduino devices

  • Familiarity with CMMI-DEV Level3
  • Familiarity with Army test and evaluation (T&E)

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must possess Security Clearance specified below
