    GaN Corporation is now accepting resumes for a cybersecurity subject matter expert (SME) to support operations analysis for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This position requires initiative, multi-tasking skills and ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.  The individual fulfilling this role will work directly with Government civil servants, other contractors, and academia in analyzing different systems and capabilities in DHS's capability-based portfolios for cybersecurity effectiveness.  Specifically, this individual will work with DHS to ensure systems and capabilities are adequately secured against novice to advanced cyber threats.  This individual will help DHS strengthen the security and resilience of our nations federal networks and critical infrastructure.

    Responsibilities

    • Work with key personnel within DHS including testers, evaluators and developers to build-in, test, and assess cybersecurity in DHS systems
    • Establish plans and proposals for addressing cyber concerns for the DHS enterprise, other federal networks, and critical infrastructure
    • Discover cyber vulnerabilities and identify mitigation strategies for DHS systems
    • Provide detailed communications and reports to leaders
    • Understand and communicate the "so-what" of cyber, not just the technical details
    • Assist in the writing, reviewing, and coordinating of test and evaluation plans and reports on different DHS systems and capabilities
    • Support operational capability gap analysis and reporting and developing courses of action (COA)s focused on gap mitigation
    • Work with Government, Industry and Academia to test and evaluate the security and resiliency of new systems and capabilities

    Qualifications

    • BS (minimum)/MS or PhD (preferred) in Cybersecurity, Information Security Systems, Computer Science, Computer Forensics, Network Engineering, Engineering, Operations Research, Physics, Mathematics, or related technical field in Engineering or related technical field
    • 12+ years’ experience with DHS, DOD, or other federal agency with 6+ years focused on cybersecurity
    • Experience working in a DHS or federal environment and familiarity with policies, guidelines, and procedures for cyberspace operations

    Desired Skills:

    • In addition to IASAE Certification, possess multiple DoD 8570 IA certifications such as CISSP, CEH, ISSAP, ISSEP, ISSMP, SSCP, GCIA, GCED, GCFA, GCLC, GCIH, GSIH, LPT
    • Military or Civilian Experience with weapon system test and evaluations
    • Military or Civilian Experience in Cyberspace Operations (DoDIN, DCO, and/or OCO) or Information Operations related to Cyberspace
    • Performed as a lead evaluator for cyber vulnerability assessments
    • Performed as a lead penetration tester 
    • Possess experience operating on or leading an NSA Certified Red Team

    • Must be a U.S. Citizen
    • Must possess Security Clearance specified below
