Overview

GaN Corporation is now accepting resumes for a test and evaluation (T&E) subject matter expert (SME) to support operations analysis for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This position requires initiative, multi-tasking skills and the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.  We are looking for exceptionally talented people that excel in collaborative environments and can work directly with Government civil servants, other contractors, and academia in analyzing different systems and capabilities in DHS's capability-based portfolios.  Specifically, we need an individual that can ensure systems and capabilities are adequately tested and evaluated at all stages of the acquisition life-cycle.  To accomplish these requirements, the successful candidate will need a broad understanding of different types of testing and test technologies.  To accomplish these requirements, the successful candidate will need a broad understanding of the different types of testing and test technologies, existing DHS test infrastructure and the Department of Defense (DOD) test resources that can be leveraged to support DHS T&E requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Writing, reviewing, and coordinating test and evaluation plans and reports on different DHS systems and capabilities
  • Advising DHS on types of tests to conduct, test technologies to be used, and test resources (DHS, DOD, and other) that can be leveraged to conduct tests
  • Supporting operational capability gap analysis and reporting and
  • Developing proposed courses of action (COA)s to mitigate gaps
  • Working with Government, industry, and academia to test and evaluate the effectiveness of new systems and capabilities developed to protect the United States and our allies
  • Developing T&E guidebooks, policy, and workforce development plans
  • Working with DHS leadership to stand-up Operational Test Agencies (OTAs) within different parts of DHS

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline
  • 12 years or more of T&E experience with DHS or DOD

Required Skills:

  • Ability to perform complex analysis and write thorough test plans and reports
  • Effective communication skills and ability to lead small ad-hoc teams

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with different types of testing such as hardware-in-the-loop, bench testing, surrogate contaminant tests, open-air-flight, live-fire, etc.
  • Experience with different analysis tools such as MATLAB, iGRAFX, and "R"
  • Experience with the use of different modeling and simulation tools such as EADSIM, OCTAVE, JAAMSIM, and OneSAF
  • Trained as a member of the defense acquisition workforce
